A split cell for aqueous zinc-ion battery (AZIB) testing is a reusable laboratory fixture designed to evaluate anode/cathode materials and electrolytes without the need for crimping coin cells. Because AZIBs use water-based electrolytes (like ZnSO4 or Zn(CF3SO3)2), the testing hardware must be specifically resistant to corrosion and optimized for the unique stripping/plating behavior of zinc.

Structure/Components
  • Four acrylic plates: two back plates, two plates with channels for anolyte and catholyte flow
  • Three silicone gaskets
  • Two 500 mL tanks are included. one peristaltic pump (3-10 mL/min), and tubing (I.D.=4 mm, O.D. 6 mm) are included.
Cell Sizes
  • Default effective area is 1 cm2. 
  • Other types of active areas, such as 2, 3, 4 cm2 is also available upon request.  
  • Distance for anode and cathode: 2.4 cm
  • Cell size: L65×W60×H60 mm 
Customized Option

(1) If customers want a faster electrolyte pumping speed, the upgrade one can be supplied upon request. 

Note The cell components should be thoroughly cleaned and dried after use.
