Titanium (Ti) foam is the most advanced 3D current collector for aqueous batteries, offering significantly higher surface area and mechanical stability than titanium foils or meshes. It is specifically engineered for high-performance Zinc-ion, Aluminum-ion, and Aqueous Lithium-ion systems. Titanium foam is essentially a "metallic sponge" consisting of interconnected 3D pores. In an aqueous environment, it solves the most critical failure modes: (1) Massive surface area, (2) Extreme corrosion resistance, (3) Dendrite suppression, (4) Reduced gas evolution.
