A highly stretchable strain sensor for flexible bioelectronics bridges the mechanical gap between rigid electronics and human tissue. It transduces mechanical deformations—such as skin strain, pulse waves, respiration, and joint movement—into measurable electrical signals while accommodating large strains (> 50–500%).
For Piezoresistive Sensing: It is mainly used to measure resistance change (ΔR/R0) upon stretching. Tensile strain causes disconnection of conductive percolation pathways (e.g., carbon nanotubes, metallic nanowires, or conductive elastomers) or geometry changes in liquid metal micro-channels. It offers high gauge factors (GF), simple readout circuits, and broad detection ranges.
