NaTDI (Sodium 4,5-Dicyano-2-(trifluoromethyl)imidazol-1-ide, also called Sodium 2-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dicyanoimidazolate) salt), is designed specifically to solve several critical stability and safety issues in next-generation, high-voltage sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). NaTDI is notable for its exceptional stability and multi-functional capabilities, which makes it an attractive alternative to NaPF6 or NaTFSI. Its multifunctional roles are (1) Enhanced Thermal and Chemical Stability; (2) High-Voltage Stability and Aluminum Passivation; (3) Interface (SEI and CEI) Stabilization.
