Lithium-Indium (Li-In) alloy is the standard reference and counter electrode material for laboratory evaluation of all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs), particularly those using sulfide solid electrolytes (Li10GeP2S12, Li6PS5Cl, etc.) and halide solid electrolytes (Li3YCl6, Li3InCl6). By alloying lithium with indium, the electrochemical potential is stabilized within a broad, flat two-phase plateau that prevents electrolyte reduction, eliminates lithium dendrite growth at typical test currents, and provides stable interphase kinetics.
