Add-Ons
A Multifunctional Vacuum Electrolyte Standing (Soaking/Diffusion) and Sealing Machine is a dual-function system used in the assembly of lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and solid-state/hybrid pouch cells. It bridges the gap between liquid electrolyte dosing and cell formation cycling. By combining controlled multi-stage vacuum-pressure standing cycles with thermal pre-sealing inside a single vacuum chamber, the equipment ensures complete pore saturation while hermetically sealing the aluminum-laminated pouch before exposure to ambient air or moisture.
The vacuum electrolyte standing and sealing machine normally includes the following procedures: (1) Cell Loading & Chamber Evacuation: Cells are loaded into multi-tray standing chambers (or individual vacuum fixtures for cylindrical/prismatic cells). Chambers are sealed and evacuated to target vacuum levels (typically -90 kPa to -98 kPa) to extract residual air pockets trapped inside the internal cell stack. (2) Cyclic Pressure & Vacuum Diffusion (Pressure Pulsing): The machine alternates between deep vacuum and controlled pressure backfilling (using dry N2, Ar, or dry air). Deep vacuum expands trapped micro-bubbles (N2/O2) and draws them out of capillary channels, while positive pressure pushes the liquid electrolyte into sub-micron pores of thick cathodes (e.g., high-nickel NMC, LFP) and dense graphite/silicon anodes. (3) Thermostatic Heating & Face Clamping: Heating platens maintain an elevated temperature to lower electrolyte viscosity without decomposing heat-sensitive lithium salts (LiPF6, LiFSI). (4) Vacuum Pre-Sealing (Thermal Impulse): While maintaining the targeted vacuum level, heated sealing jaws clamp the open pouch edge with regulated pneumatic pressure (0.2 MPa - 0.6 MPa). Digital PID temperature control (RT - 250°C) melts the inner polypropylene (PP) sealant layer of the aluminum laminate film, forming a leak-free, bubble-free pre-seal before the chamber vents to atmosphere.
