For operando Raman split cell batteries, the setup is more physically robust than a standard coin cell to support a transparent window (typically quartz or sapphire) and to fit under a Raman microscope objective. The "split" design allows you to assemble the battery, cycle it, and then easily disassemble it for post-mortem cleaning.

Structure/Components
  • Cell Body: Pure Ti
  • Spring: to adjust the compression on electrodes
  • Distance between working electrode and optical window<2 mm.
  • Configuration: Two electrode or three-electrode
  • In three-electrode system, glass carbon attached Li foil will be used as reference electrode for non-aqueous battery characterization.
  • In three-electrode system, Ag/AgCl will be used as reference electrode for aqueous battery characterization. 
Cell Sizes
  • Optical Window Size: 8 mm
  • Whole Cell Size: L50mm * W50mm * H20mm
Customized Option
  • For the two electrode Raman cell, the high-pressure system (~6 MPa) can be integrated for studying the gas pressure effect on battery performance or metal-gas battery system.
         
  • For the three electrode Raman cell, the high-pressure system (~6 MPa) can be integrated for studying the gas pressure effect on battery performance or metal-gas battery system.

         

Note The cell components should be thoroughly cleaned and dried after use.
