An operando XRD split cell is a specialized electrochemical test chamber designed to monitor structural changes in battery electrodes in real-time as they charge and discharge. Unlike "in-situ" (which just means "in place"), "operando" implies the battery is actively working under standard electrochemical conditions while the X-ray data is collected.
