PEO {Poly(ethylene oxide)}-based electrolytes are the most widely studied polymer solid-state electrolytes (SPEs) for all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs). Poly(ethylene oxide) is a polyether with a repeating unit of (CH2CH2O)n. The ether oxygen atoms (-O-) along the polymer backbone act as Lewis bases, coordinating with the Li+ ions from the dissolved lithium salt (eg: LiTFSI, LiClO4).
