PMMA {Poly(methyl methacrylate)} is a synthetic, amorphous polymer that has gained significant interest as a host material for solid-state electrolytes (SPEs) and especially Gel Polymer Electrolytes (GPEs) in lithium batteries and other electrochemical devices. Unlike Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO), which relies on chain movement in its amorphous phase (requiring high temperature), PMMA is primarily utilized for its structural, mechanical, and electrochemical stability benefits.
