Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are the "gold standard" of conductive additives for electrochemical systems. Unlike multi-walled nanotubes or carbon black, SWCNTs consist of a single layer of graphene rolled into a cylinder, giving them ballistic conductivity and a massive aspect ratio (length-to-diameter). The high-purity HNBR + TUBALL™ slurries in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) is standard practice for tuning viscosity, solids loading, and binder compatibility for high-Ni NMC/LFP cathodes and SiOx/Si-C anodes.
