NEXIONIC SPEEK (Sulfonated Polyether Ether Ketone) membranes are high-performance hydrocarbon-based cation-exchange and proton-conducting polymer membranes. Engineered as a cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternative to perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA, e.g., Nafion) membranes, they are widely deployed in Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB), Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFC), Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC), and electrodialysis/water treatment systems. The membrane backbone consists of aromatic polyether ether ketone modified with sulfonic acid groups (-SO3H) to introduce fixed negative charges and facilitate cation/proton transport.
