Li1.14Ni0.14Co0.14Mn0.57O2 is a lithium-rich, cobalt-free cathode material with layered oxide structure, where the LiMnO3 component acts as an inactive reservoir that, when activated at high voltage, releases extra lithium and oxygen, providing the ultra-high capacity, while the LiNiCoMnO2 component provides the initial cycling capacity.
