LISC (Li2In0.33Sc0.33Cl4) is a highly significant and promising member of the halide-based solid-state electrolyte (SSE) family. The most promising and widely studied composition with a high Li-In-Sc-Cl ratio is the family of chlorospinels represented by the general formula: Li2InxSc0.666-xCl4 (x = 0-0.666). The highest ionic conductivity is achieved by optimizing the balance between In3+ and Sc3+ within this framework. The optimized LISC has demonstrated room-temperature ionic conductivities of up to 2.0 mS/cm.
