LiOTf (Lithium Triflate, LiCF3SO3, is an advanced electrolyte salt that is highly valued for its excellent stability and conductivity in high-performance lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). LiOTf salt has the following features:

(1) High Chemical Stability: LiOTf exhibits excellent chemical stability and is highly resistant to hydrolysis (reaction with water). Unlike LiPF6, which produces highly corrosive HF gas when it encounters trace moisture, LiOTf does not. This enhanced stability improves the shelf life and safety of the electrolyte.

(2) Solid-State and Polymer Electrolytes: LiOTf is frequently the salt of choice for Polymer Electrolyte Membranes (PEMs), such as those based on polyethylene oxide (PEO). Its structural compatibility and stability make it well-suited for these non-liquid battery systems.
