The KFTFSI (Potassium (Fluorosulfonyl)(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide) salt, is a next-generation electrolyte salt that is rapidly gaining prominence in high-performance potassium-ion batteries (PIBs). It is often considered the most promising candidate to supplement or eventually replace the conventional KPF6.
KFTFSI provides several significant improvements over the standard KPF6, such as (1) Superior Ionic Conductivity; (2) High Thermal Stability; (3) Enhanced Hydrolysis Resistance; (4) Compatibility with Li Metal.
