In a battery R&D environment, a Small Industrial Water Chiller is an essential piece of support infrastructure. It is the "thermal sink" that protects your high-end fabrication equipment and ensures that the heat generated by your processes doesn't skew your experimental data.
(1) High-Speed Dry Mixers: Friction from the 10,000 RPM impellers generates massive heat. If the powder exceeds 70°C, the PTFE binder can "over-cure" and fail. The chiller circulates cold water through the mixer's jacketed tank to keep the "battery dough" at a stable 25°C – 30°C.
(2) Hot Rolling Presses (Calendering): While the rollers are heated, the hydraulic system and the bearings must be cooled to prevent oil degradation and mechanical expansion that would ruin your ±1 um gap precision. Cools the hydraulic fluid and prevents heat creep from the rollers into the machine's structural frame.
(3) Slot-Die Coater (UV Curing or Condensation): If you are using UV-curing for your ion-exchange membranes, the UV lamps generate intense infrared heat that can melt your thin films. It cools the UV lamp housings and the "chill roll" used to stabilize the web temperature before rewinding.
