The choice of crushing jaw and linear plate material is a critical variable to prevent contamination from "wear debris.

The options of crushing jaw and linear plates materials are shown below:

(1) Zirconia (ZrO2): Zirconia is the most popular choice for lithium-ion battery R&D (NCM, LFP, Graphite).

(2) Alumina (Al2O3): Alumina is often used for the materials science side of your work, particularly for SOFC/SOEC components.

(3) Stainless Steel (SUS304/316): SS is a standard and economical option, but cross-contamination is a big risk for battery material milling.

(4) Agate (Natural Quartz): It is featured as "Zero Metallic Contamination" since Agate is a natural, non-metallic material preferred for ultra-pure chemical synthesis.

(5) Tungsten Carbide (WC): It is normally used when maximum impact energy is required.
