A Manual Hydraulic Pellet Press is a compact, hand-operated laboratory machine used to compress powdered materials into solid, uniform pellets or discs.
The basic workflow of the pellet press is shown below: (1) Die Loading: Powder is poured into a specialized, high-strength steel or tungsten carbide pellet die sleeve (typically ranging from 5mm to 40mm in diameter) with a polished anvil block at the bottom. (2) Plunger Insertion: A top plunger is placed over the powder. (3) Pumping: The die assembly is placed between the press platens. The operator manually pumps a lever, forcing hydraulic fluid into a cylinder, which raises the lower platen. (4) Compression: The powder is crushed between the plungers under several tons of force, forcing the particles to bind into a solid pellet. (5) Ejection: The die is flipped or altered, and the press is pumped again to push the finished pellet out cleanly.
