Add-Ons
Using a Split Automatic Hydraulic Pellet Press is the gold standard for high-pressure powder compaction inside a glovebox (such as preparing air-sensitive battery materials like polyanionic sodium-ion cathodes or solid oxide fuel cell powders). Because traditional automatic presses place the heavy hydraulic ram, electronic controls, and fluid reservoirs in a single chassis, they are often too bulky to pass through a standard glovebox antechamber and generate excess heat and electromagnetic noise inside the inert atmosphere. A split design completely solves this logistical bottleneck.
The system is physically divided into two distinct units connected via a feedthrough line: (1) Inside the Glovebox (The Mechanical Press): Only the ultra-compact, pure mechanical pressing frame and hydraulic cylinder reside inside the main chamber. This significantly reduces the equipment footprint, keeps electronics out of the inert gas, and eliminates oil-change maintenance inside the box. (2) Outside the Glovebox (The Controller & Pump): The heavy electric motor, hydraulic pump, and digital touchscreen control unit remain outside. They connect to the internal press via a high-pressure hydraulic hose fluid feedthrough or a sealed electrical umbilical cable.
