A Horizontal Microwave Tube Furnace is a precision thermal processing instrument that combines the atmospheric control of a tube furnace with the ultra-fast, volumetric heating of microwaves. Unlike a muffle furnace, the horizontal tube design allows for a continuous flow of inert gas (Ar, N2) or reactive gas (H2) across your sample, which is critical for protecting sensitive sodium and iron species from oxidation.

The microwave tube furnace system typically consists of a high-purity Quartz or Alumina tube passing through a microwave cavity. (1) Atmosphere Integrity: The horizontal orientation makes it easy to seal the tube ends with water-cooled vacuum flanges. This allows you to perform vacuum sintering or process materials in a high-purity reducing atmosphere (Ar+5% H2). (2) Volumetric Uniformity: Microwaves heat the sample from the "inside-out." In a horizontal tube, the microwave field is optimized to provide a uniform hot zone in the center, ensuring pellets or powders are heated evenly throughout their entire cross-section. (3) Thermal Shock Resistance: Alumina tubes are specially engineered to withstand the rapid ramp rates (up to 100 °C/min) that microwave heating provides.
