In battery production lines, a Ceramic Rotary Metering Pump (also called a valveless ceramic rotary piston pump) is the absolute industry standard for the high-precision electrolyte filling (injection) process. Because battery electrolytes typically consist of lithium/sodium salts (like LiPF6 or NaPF6) dissolved in aggressive organic carbonates, standard mechanical pumps fail due to chemical corrosion and crystalline clogging.
Unlike traditional plunger pumps that rely on spring-loaded ball check valves to dictate flow direction, this pump uses a valveless mechanical switching mechanism. A high-precision servo or stepper motor drives a ceramic plunger (piston) inside a matched ceramic sleeve (cylinder). The plunger simultaneously executes a linear reciprocating stroke and a continuous rotation.
