In battery and fuel cell manufacturing—whether processing cathode pastes, anode slurries, or ceramic electrolyte suspensions (like GDC, YSZ, or sulfide solid electrolytes)—slurry filtration is the final, critical gatekeeper before the slurry reaches the coating head (such as a slot-die or microgravure coater).
Filtration removes oversized particle agglomerates, un-dispersed binder chunks, and external contaminants. This prevents microscopic coating defects (e.g., pinholes, streaks, or scratches) and protects expensive precision coating slots and pumps from damage.
The filtration rating is determined by the size of the active materials and the wet coating thickness. As a gold standard rule of thumb: The filter aperture size should be 3 to 5 times larger than the maximum particle size (D99) of the slurry, and less than half of the wet coating gap thickness.
The filtration mesh is designed for slurry filter (ESSVSF)
