Wire Rod (or Mayer Rod) is a popular alternative to the doctor blade, especially when you need to coat thin, high-uniformity films on flexible substrates like battery foils or membranes. While a doctor blade relies on a mechanical gap, the wire rod uses the grooves between tightly wound stainless steel wires to meter the amount of slurry that passes through.

The wire rod with coating width of 300 mm is specially designed as accessories for the multifunctional tap casting coater (ESMR2RDC)
