For high-throughput coin cell electrode preparation, pneumatic disc cutters are the industry standard due to their speed, repeatability, and ability to handle delicate or brittle materials without the mechanical "stutter" of manual punches.

The high-throughput pneumatic disk cutter has the following features: (1) Burr-Free Edges: Pneumatic systems provide a consistent, high-velocity vertical force that shears the foil cleanly. This is vital to prevent microscopic metal "burrs" that could pierce the separator and cause cell failure during cycling. (2) Glovebox Safety: Most high-throughput models are purely pneumatic. Because they use no electricity, they eliminate the risk of sparks and heat generation inside the volatile atmosphere of a glovebox. (3) Low Material Waste: High-throughput dies are often arranged in optimized patterns to maximize the number of discs per square centimeter of your coated tape.
