SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) is the most widely adopted water-based binder for the anodes of commercial lithium-ion batteries. It has strong adhesion to current collector of copper (Cu) foil and ensures the entire electrode layer remains securely attached to the current collector throughout the battery's lifespan, preventing delamination. It also has high elongation and rubber-like flexibility, as well as good affinity for active materials.
