An 26650 cylindrical cell case is a precision-engineered enclosure designed to withstand high internal pressures, provide electrical connectivity, and ensure safety during a failure. The built-in PTC is used to cut off current if the battery overheats. The insulating O-ring is typically made of Nylon or PET, these prevent the positive cap from shorting against the negative side of the steel can.
