High-Voltage (5V) LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO) cathode electrode coated at 5.0-10.0 mg/cm2 on aluminum foil represents a premier, cobalt-free high-voltage energy storage architecture. Operating at a high potential plateau of ~ 4.7 V- 4.8 V vs. Li/Li+ (deriving its redox activity from the Ni^{2+}/Ni^{4+} couple within a spinel framework), LNMO delivers exceptional operating voltages that significantly boost system-level energy density. The round disc shape with single-side coating is suitable for coin cell testing, while the rectangle sheet shape with single- or double-side coating is designed for single-layer or multiple-layer pouch cell testing.
