For high-precision pouch cell assembly, an ultrasonic metal welder with a PLC touch screen controller is the standard for welding the current collector tabs (Al and Cu) to the multi-layer electrode stacks. Unlike manual or basic models, a touch screen interface allows you to program and save specific "recipes" for different layer counts, ensuring consistent bond strength without tearing the fragile foils.

The advantage of the touch screen controller: (1) Recipe Management: The specific parameters can be saved for "10-layer NMC" or "20-layer LFP," allowing different researchers to achieve identical weld quality. (2) Quality Monitoring: The screen displays the welding curve (Power vs. Time). A sudden spike or dip can indicate a misaligned tab or a dirty welding horn. (3) Self-Diagnostics: Modern controllers will alert you if the air pressure is too low or if the ultrasonic transducer is overheating, preventing damage to the equipment.

Gas Pressure Source (Optional)

  • The KF40 feedthrough can be supplied for glovebox operation (sensitive electrodes or solid-state electrolyte). In this case, an Ar gas tank with second-stage regulator is supposed to be placed outside through the feedthrough for provide pneumatic gas pressure.
