A Pouch Cell Hot Pressing & Shaping Machine is a critical piece of equipment used in the mid-to-end stages of lithium-ion and solid-state pouch cell manufacturing. It applies controlled heat and pressure simultaneously to stacked or wound cell jellyrolls (or encased pouch cells) to compact internal layers, enhance solid-solid interface contact, reduce internal resistance (ESR), and enforce precise dimensional tolerances prior to electrolyte injection or module integration.

The key functions of this equipment are: (1) Interface Adhesion & Gap Elimination: Under elevated temperatures (typically 50°C - 100°C), the separator coating (such as PVDF or ceramic binder) softens. Simultaneous compression forces the positive/negative electrodes and separator into intimate contact, eliminating micro-gaps and air pockets. (2) Thickness Standardization & Flatness Correction: Precision heating platens compress the cell stack to a target thickness within tight tolerances (usually ± 0.01 mm - ± 0.02 mm), correcting any wrinkles or warpage introduced during slitting or stacking. (3) Internal Stress Relief: Relieves residual mechanical stress within the electrode layers caused by tension during winding or stacking, preventing deformation during subsequent charge/discharge cycles. (4) Gas Removal (Pre-Formation Pressing): When used before or during formation/pre-sealing, press platens help drive trapped air or reaction gases toward the degassing pouch pocket.

Part Number
  • ERPCHPSM (ER-PC-HPSM)
Power
  • AC220V±10%, single phase, 50/60Hz, 1500 W
