For lab-scale tape casting (also known as doctor blade coating), a tape casting coater with an infrared (IR) heating cover and vacuum bed provides a dual-advantage: the vacuum bed ensures the substrate stays perfectly flat during the stroke, while the IR cover enables rapid, uniform drying from the surface down. This is particularly effective for thick electrodes or ceramic tapes where "skinning" (trapped solvent under a dried surface layer) is a common defect.

            The standard one (effective coating width of 80mm) has four-side

            gap of 100 um, 150 um, 200 um, and 250 um. Other options can

            be found here (ESSAFSFAFG).

           

  • Option 2: Standard Film Applicator with Adjustable Gap, ESSAFAW80
    The standard coating width is 100 mm and adjustable gap is 0-3 mm (resolution: 5 um).  
  • Option 3: Hybrid Fim Applicator (Doctor + Slot Die), ESSAHFAW80  
    The standard coating width for the doctor blade is 100 mm and adjustable gap is 0-6 mm (resolution: 5 um)
    The standard coating width for the slot die head is 80mm. The inside channel volume is 2 mL. The shims with thickness of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 mm are included.  
     
  • Option 4: Wire Rod (ESSAWRW100
    The maximum coating width for the wire rod (D=10mm) is 100 mm. The wire groove diameter (determine the coating width, not the physical rod diameter):  6 um, 8 um, 10 um, 12 um, 15 um, 20 um, 25 um, 30 um, 40 um, 50 um, 60 um, 80 um, 100 um, 150 um, and 200 um are available.
Vacuum Pump
  • An individual vacuum pump is included for sucking the substrate on vacuum bed
