Synthesizing high-performance bamboo-based hard carbon powder for advanced sodium-ion battery anodes requires moving beyond standard bulk pyrolysis to precise control over the closed-pore volume, interlayer spacing (d_002), and surface defect density. Because raw bamboo contains high concentrations of natural cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, targeted pre-treatments and catalytic modifications can optimize the turbostratic carbon architecture.

(1) Pore-Volume Tuning: To maximize the low-potential sloping plateau (associated with sodium insertion into expanded interlayer galleries) while minimizing high-surface-area open micropores (which trap solvent and reduce Initial Coulombic Efficiency), chemical activation using mild activating agents (such as potassium citrate or urea) is integrated prior to final carbonization.

(2) Interlayer Expansion: Incorporating volatile heteroatom precursors during pre-carbonization expands the turbostratic interlayer spacing up to 0.39--0.41 nm, lowering the kinetic activation barrier for reversible sodium-ion insertion and extraction.

Part Number

CSIBPCHCBC (C-SIB-PC-HCHB)

Chemical Composition

Fixed carbon>95.2%, Ash content=~3.2%

True Density

~1.85 g/cm3

Features

(1) Abundant natural fiber channels for tuning disorder for Na+ insertion

(2) Under high temperature, shrinkable channels generates large amounts of closed pores and maintain stable interlayer distance.

(3) Low ash content decreases the danger of impurity (eg: SiO2) to SEI film

Package Grade 100 g, 200 g, and 500 g/bottle

Notes: Please store the bamboo-derived carbon powder precursor in a dry area (glovebox is preferred)
