Add-Ons
A 1200°C High-Pressure Horizontal Tube Furnace engineered for pressures up to 4 MPa (approx. 40 bar / 580 psi) requires specialized structural design, thick-walled process tubes, and robust mechanical sealing. Standard quartz tubes typically crack under high positive pressures; therefore, high-pressure horizontal reactors require specific structural and safety considerations: (1) Process Tube Material Selection: While quartz is suitable for vacuum or low positive pressure (~ 0.02 MPa), high-pressure operation up to 4 MPa typically requires heavy-wall alumina (Al2O3) ceramic tubes or custom high-strength alloy tubes (such as Inconel or stainless steel lined reactors), sized appropriately in the 1" to 2" diameter range to withstand hoop stress. (2) Heavy-Duty Flange & Locking Architecture: Standard quick-connect KF or simple O-ring slip flanges will blow out under high pressure. High-pressure tube furnaces utilize threaded or bolted multi-bolt stainless steel split flanges with high-temperature elastomer/metal C-rings (such as Viton or silver-plated Inconel seals) and retaining circlips. (3) Pressure Safety Relief & Monitoring: Systems rated for 4 MPa must incorporate certified ASME-compliant safety pressure relief valves, digital pressure transducers, and precision back-pressure regulators on the exhaust line to safely contain inert gases (Ar, N2) or reactive gas mixtures during hydrothermal, synthesis, or high-pressure annealing runs.
