In battery research, a vacuum oven is critical for removing trace moisture from powders (active materials) and electrodes (coated foils) without causing oxidation. For lithium-ion systems, the goal is typically to achieve moisture levels below 50 ppm for electrodes and below 10 ppm for finished cells.
