For Dry Battery Electrode (DBE) technology, the High-Speed Dry Mixer replaces the traditional NMP-based planetary mixer. Its primary function is no longer just "blending" but "Fibrillation"—the mechanical process of stretching PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) binder particles into a microscopic 3D web that binds the active material together.

Dry electrode mixing relies on high-shear collision. (1) Dry Powder Loading: Active material (NMC/LFP), conductive carbon (Super P/CNTs), and PTFE binder are loaded as dry powders (typically 5–10% binder). (2) Shear Force: High-speed impellers (running at 3,000 to 10,000 RPM) create intense mechanical shear. (3) PTFE Activation: Under this shear and the heat generated by friction, the spherical PTFE particles undergo a phase transition, "uncoiling" into ultra-fine fibrils.

Mixing Tank Features

  • Two sets of sharp blades are designed in the mixing tank. The powder amount should cover the blade surface to achieve high mixing quality. 

         

  • A water chiller (eg: EADTCWC) with flow rate (≥60 L/min) should be connected with the cooling jacket to maintain10-15 °C for partial fibrillation of PTFE. 

         

Gas Compressor (Optional)
  • A gas compressor (EUQOFGC) is required to provide a gas pressure of 60-80 psi for pneumatic sealing operation
